This permanently preserved but privately owned farm will never be developed, but instead provides multiple benefits such as natural flood control, reduced traffic congestion, ground water recharge, protected wildlife habitat, some recreational opportunities that offer a glimpse into a lifestyle that has all but vanished from the local scene not to mention controlled costs for communities. For example, farmland left in private hands creates a positive situation whereby tax rates can be kept low as it is unnecessary to hire additional public service personnel and equipment to care for the same area if it were developed into housing, shopping centers, schools, etc.
Our Mission Statement: Northern Star Farm is our home, our pride, our passion, and a truly wondrous place. We take full and direct responsibility to care for the land, the crops, and the cows. In addition we care for the safety, security, and quality of the food-chain. We also care for the Northern Star Farm extended family; for our hard working employees; volunteers; family members, as they are the ones that make all of this possible, everyday in an extraordinary way. We embrace this responsibility. It is our moral and ethical duty to care through the cycles of life, to ensure that we produce for you, quality dairy products in an excellent way, which is sustainable and supports the well-being of all organic participants: the land; the crops; the food and the people.
