Contest Rules

Age Categories:

Ages 10 and under

Ages 11-17

Ages 18 and over

This contest is open to anyone and there is no entry fee.

 

One house per participant.

​

All Gingerbread houses must be mounted on a rigid, unbending base no larger than 18” X 18”.

The house must be 100% edible.

Non-Edible decorations CAN be used to decorate the base only.

The base must be covered.

Original creations are encouraged, but purchased kits that you decorate are certainly acceptable!

 

Use the Royal Icing Recipe or at least a similar one.

We cannot accept structures made with egg or butter icings as they can quickly turn rancid and compromise the house.

 

Houses may not contain any food items that needs refrigeration.

 

 

Entries must include, on the base, your name, age category, and title of entry.

 

Participants must full out an entry form.

 

Electricity will not be provided.

 

Entries are due by December 10th.

 

Winners will be announced on Saturday December 18th.

 

 

First place will be awarded in each category along with cash prizes. 

1st place in each category = $100

2nd place in each category = $50

3d place in each category = $25

 

 

We are not responsible for lost or damaged gingerbread houses.
